Christmas Market of the Basilica of Saint Stephen “Adventi Ünnep to Bazilikánál“. This Christmas market, one of the most beautiful in Budapest, takes place in the square of San Esteban “Szent István tér” in front of the basilica of the same name. In the center of the market there is a large Christmas tree, and a large skating rink. Every night the basilica is illuminated with colourful lights, and vendors of special Christmas gifts are setting up their stands in the heart of the city. Among the piles of sweet Hungarian pastries are crocheted items, traditional fur hats and gloves, pressed-flower jewellery, “good-luck” garden pixies and handmade chocolates and honey cakes.

The attraction of this year is the 3D projection in the basilica that can be seen from all corners of the square with 3D glasses. “The Advent Fair at the Basilica” is considered one of the must-see Christmas events in Europe. Opening from Nov 24 to Jan 1st.
